To be or not to be......Traditional???

So I am having a bit of a dilema. Let's call it baby naming. You see I already have three boys. Bradley, Greggory and JT (short for Johnathon Thomas). Nice traditional names. Bradley and Greggory have never been on the top 100 favorite name list, but still nice names. Of course Johnathon is, but since we don't call him that I never worried about that. I like the names that are traditional, but not on the top 100 list. Now for the problem...

We are having a fourth boy. What to name him has been a topic everywhere! Everyone wants to give me suggestions and I always feel bad when I say, "oh no, I don't like that one." Or "we are just planning to wait until birth to name our son." Because truthfully I have NO idea what I want to name him. I have been reading books, magazines, websites anything with names in it. I just keep thinking maybe the name will hit me like a ton of bricks! My husband wants him to have an edgy name. Something different. Then again my husband's name is Matthew. Great name, but also very popular! ;)

So now is the time I am going to open the floor to all of you. Any suggestions will do. Boy names. His middle name is Ethan. So keep that in mind when handing out names. My husband has always LOVED the name Ethan. That can't be his first name though because it's on the top 10 list!

Sorry, I am weird like that...

I think that you should pick like 3 that you like, and then when you meet him it might hit you like a ton of bricks. A few that I like are: Sage, Easton, Colton, Keegan

You can hate them all but they also are not in the top 20! :-)

Can't wait to see you only about 2 more months!!

Okay now I feel like a dork, obviously Easton Ethan would be awful so strike that!!

You are so funny! I actually like Easton but with Ethan you are right no way!! :) That is what I did with JT. I didn't know his first name until after he was born. I just knew it was going to start with a J! :)

thanks for checking out my blog!

P.S. I like William Ethan, but William is 'ordinary.' My name is William and it is a timeless name...no one can ever make fun of it, however, my middle name is another story.

Oddly enough William is on our list...I know it's popular, but you can be William, Will or Bill. That is great! I also like Norris...big Chuck fans!! :) Thanks for stopping by!

haha I ALWAYS checked the top 100 lists to see where we would end up (and tried to avoid being on the list altogether)- all our names are family names - I LOVED my 'different' name but hated spelling it all the time... it isn't Cailin (like Caitlin no t) it is Cailin like Kyle with an "n" or Ki-lynne or ...
boys names
William is an fantastic name
Norris Ethan is kinda nice too...

I like Thomas and Christopher (I knew a Topher which was way better than Chris) Peter too
I loved Rainer and Gunnar when I was pregnant but my husband wouldn't go for either - he wanted a Hunter but we had a girl that time
he also wanted a Malachi but I decided to give that name to the dog :-)

I do think it is tougher on guys to have unusual names than it is on girls... one of my friends dad's names was Knut growing up and his kids are Scott and Todd. They both had to promise not to ever name his grandsons Knut.
